Primary Assistant Teachers
Dothan Montessori School is seeking two Primary Assistant Teachers to join our Primary Classroom of 3 to 6 year old students. The Primary Assistant Teachers support the Primary Lead Teacher to provide a carefully prepared Montessori environment that nurtures children’s innate curiosity and love of learning. The ideal candidates have a love for children, awareness of and enthusiasm for the Montessori philosophy and willingness to learn more, and lead from the heart. The people in this role must be confident following through with children to help the Primary Lead Teacher establish and maintain positive work habits and clear behavioral expectations for the children. Together, the Lead and Assistant Teachers observe and respond to children’s developmental needs in the classroom. The Primary Assistant Teachers also help to ensure that the classroom is safe, clean and orderly. Classroom experience or other background in early childhood development or education is preferred. The people in this role must be excellent communicators who enjoy working as part of a team, and who can both take direction and work collaboratively. The Primary Assistant Teachers establish a positive rapport with the children, other teachers and with parents.
Dothan Montessori School is entering its 10th year of operation. We are a small school with one Early Primary and one Primary class. Currently, our classes are half-day, with the potential to become full day. We are located in a beautifully restored historic home in downtown Dothan, which is undergoing a revitalization. Dothan Montessori School is trusted by families in the Wiregrass who seek an exceptional, holistic early childhood educational experience.
Required Qualifications:

Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred

Ability to relate positively to young children
-
Experience working with children ages 3 to 6 years old

Knowledge of early childhood development

Alignment with the Montessori philosophy

Strong understanding of the Montessori method, and/or willingness to learn via written materials, webinars, and/or Montessori training

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively
Desired Qualifications:

Experience in a Montessori school setting
